New Home?

*giggle* hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

So I heard ma talking about it being "time" for me to start lookin' for my new home. Ya know, I'll be so sad to leave here but we had this talk when I got here that we'd always be "family" but ma needs to help others like me and I can get along great in another home too. It will take a special home though, my Princess Posterior won't ever be quite right but we've done all we can do for now. So...here's what the humans say I need:

~ A home with NO STAIRS to keep the stress on my hips and knees at a minimum,
~ Glyco to help with the joints,
~ Someone home most of the day,
~ Possibly daily pain meds, and
~ Maybe surgery in the future, depending on how things go over the years.

WAIT! I have a requirement! I want another great sibling like Toby! I'm not around other princesses so I don't know how I'd be but I loooooooooove the boys! *giggle*

So if you're interested in seeing if we'd be a good match, get your application in on the website, and send an email to Aunt Tina letting her know that you're interested and where you live.

Hola!

*giggle* heeeeeeeeeeeey there!!!
WiggleWaggleWiggleWaggle

Mia Bia here, how is everyone? I'm doing good, thanks for asking! My knee is doing much better after surgery although I can't use it fully quite yet. Almost there, though! WOO! We have to give my hips a little more time to see how they are going to be long term and I'll be sure to update everyone after my next appointment with the good Doc Mark. :)

Nothing else new, just playing around here at Foster Ma's house. I got busted the other day so I might as well share the story with everyone...
Foster Ma was typing on her computer so I thought I'd get that Toby. Ma would NEVER believe him over me so I ran full speed (or...as full speed as I get these days) down the hall and JUMPED on Toby's head. *giggle* He just got up and we played but what a wake up, DONTCHATHINK? *giggle*

Me? Stinker? NAAAAAAAAAAH!

Update!

*giggle* hiiiiiiiiiii everyone!

Miss Mia here to update you kind folks on what's going on here at Foster Ma's place.

Things are going really well, after I got scolded for licking my stitches I haven't done it since. I'm a good girl, in case you can't tell. *SMILE* Little by little it feels better and I'm putting more weight on it. When it's a little sore I do motor around well on 3 legs too so nothing really keeps me down.

Still having fun with bro-Toby and we even went to something Sunday they called Slobberfest. It was sooooooo overwhelming to see all of those bulldogs and people...CRAZY!! We didn't stay that long but had fun while we were there. I'm glad we got to go, thanks for taking us, Ma! :)

I have an appointment on Friday to get the stitches out and for a check-up...I'll let everyone know how that goes!

Feeling Better!

*giggle* hiiiiiiiiiiiii....Mia here, reporting from the Foster Palace.

The first couple days after surgery I didn't feel too great...too much medicine we think but we backed off and I feel MUCH better! (I told them I didn't need no stinking pills!) I've been eating and drinking again, even trying to make up for the couple of days I didn't eat much. Still getting lots of rest and when I go outside to potty, foster ma has this cool sling thing she uses to help. She says it helps me not over work the other knee...COOL...hopefully we won't have to do any of this again! If we did though, this is a great place to recover. Foster ma is so attentive and foster fur-brother Toby is just the greatest to Chil-lax with! *giggle*

So nothing terribly exciting going on here, just sleeping, eating, playing a little, eating, pooping...normally bully girl stuff.

I'll post again when I can get Toby off his World of Warcraft game, he's obsessed you know! I have to get better soon so I can start running his bully butt all over the yard! He could stand to lose a pound or two! *giggle*

Later Tater Tots!

Surgery Update

Miss Mia is a little too worn out, so Aunt Tina here making the update for her today.

Surgery yesterday went well and she's resting at her foster mom's house. Mia is apparently a MASTER at sniffing pills out of anything and pushing them away so that's been interesting figuring out ways to get them down but she's being well taken care of. Foster bro has great bedside manner, checking on her and she wakes up long enough to give him a smooch and back off to sleep. She'll be a little sleepy for a few days but we're confident she'll be much better once all the sedatives from surgery wear off. Pretty typical surgery stuff.

Thanks for checking in on Mia, the doc had good things to say and we'll finalize the plans for her once we have the re-check in a few weeks.

Appointment Monday

*ugh* hiiiiiiiiiii

While waiting for our appointment my knee has been hurting, even with my special pills. It's just easier to not use it and be still. Apparently that doesn't fly and the rescue folks said they want me better NOW so we're going in on Monday to have it fixed. I hear I'll be wrapped and shaved and have to be still for a couple of weeks but whatever it takes to get better. I'm kind of over feeling icky. :(

So Aunt Tina will update everyone on how I'm doing Monday so check back here and refresh the page for the latest update. She says more than likely they won't hear until after noon but I made her PROMISE to update AS SOON as she hears anything. I know I have many MANY fans out there! *giggle*

OK, back to my bed for more rest.

Phone Call Today!

*giggle* Hiiiiiiiiii!!!! Mia here! *giggle*

I'm having a really swell time here at Foster Ma's house! I finally got to hang out with my Foster Bro Toby who is just the COOLEST! "Ma" says he can't hear us but we talk to him anyway. Mostly though, he and I just lay in the grass together soaking up the sun. They say the sun won't last for long so we're going to get as much as we can, all day every day!

Aunt Tina just called to say I have an appointment with a very SPECIAL doctor who'll help fix me up. It's not until the 30th so we have a couple of weeks to kill. Until then I have these neat "treats" that help keep the pain away so I'm actually doing ok. We're all looking forward to finding out what the good Doc has to say and what the plan is.

....what....yeah....ok....
SHEESH!

The people want me to remind folks that I'm a little too young to "work the Ave" and we're in despirate need of money for my surgeries. I hear there are 2 other buddies needing the same thing I do and....what???....other dogs need stuff too? NO WAY! Well...I may have to sneak off to work a night or two and help bring in some cash. If you can help out, we'd GREATLY appreciate every penny!

Off to lay in the sun!

Welcome Mia

Hi Everyone, my name is Mia.  Mama dropped me off at the vet today where I saw lots of nice people then was picked up by a nice lady and whisked off to Seattle.  Another nice lady took me to a great place with a someone they call Foster Ma.  It's really nice here, there's a very nice yard area for me to lay in the sun, a foster brother who hopefully I'll get to cuddle with soon, and the Foster Ma has been really great!  I hear that I'll be here for a while and may need to "work the avenue" to bring in some money?  I'm not sure what that means but everyone else thinks it's hilarious...weird humans.

Check back often as they say I will need to see the doctor many MANY more times.  I'll keep you all updated on how things are going.  It's been a long exciting day so I'm going to go rest on my blankie and get some belly rubs.
